Managing incentives across your boards
Introduction
MORSL is a private, curated deal-flow and opportunity network. The Community Administrator role gives you management oversight of one or more boards. Your purpose on those boards is to create and manage incentives — structured rewards that encourage members to engage with specific opportunity postings.
The Community Administrator exists at the intersection of board governance and member engagement. You do not participate in deal-flow conversations directly. Instead, you shape the incentive landscape — deciding which postings deserve an attached reward and what that reward looks like — with the goal of increasing the quality and volume of member responses.
What you can and cannot do
✓ You can
- View and switch between the boards you administer
- See aggregate statistics for each board
- Browse a read-only posting list with title, date, reply count, and incentive status
- Search postings by title or body text
- Create a new incentive and link it to a posting
- Edit the title, details, and date range of an existing incentive
- Unlink (remove) an incentive from a posting
- Sort your board list by activity, name, or incentive count
- Update your profile, appearance, and account settings
✗ You cannot
- Read the full body of any member posting
- Submit or read replies on any posting
- Create postings on behalf of members
- Open the board content page (board.php)
- Modify board settings, membership, or access control lists
- Access the system administration panel
The Community Admin Dashboard
2.1 Accessing Your Dashboard
After signing in, MORSL detects your Community Administrator role and provides a link in the account dropdown. You can reach it at any time by:
- Clicking “Admin dashboard” in the account dropdown menu (top-right avatar)
- Navigating directly to
/public/community_admin_home.php
2.2 Dashboard Layout
The Community Admin dashboard uses a two-panel layout:
Lists every board on which you hold the Community Administrator role. Each board item shows the board name, total posting count, time since the most recent posting, and an amber incentive count badge. A sort dropdown at the top controls the order.
The main workspace for the board you have selected, divided into a sticky header, a two-tab navigation bar (Incentives and Postings), and a scrollable workspace area.
2.3 The Role Badge
A teal “Community admin” chip appears in the top bar immediately to the right of the MORSL logo. This badge confirms which role is active for your current session and serves as a persistent reminder that you are operating in administrator mode, not member mode.
2.4 The Board Header
When a board is selected, the sticky header at the top of the right panel shows:
- The board name
- A subtitle line showing total postings, total members, and number of incentives currently active
- A teal “Add incentive” button in the top-right corner
2.5 Switching Between Boards
Click any board name in the left sidebar to load that board’s workspace. The active board is highlighted in teal. The right panel updates immediately — there is no page reload delay.
Working with the Board Sidebar
3.1 What Each Board Item Shows
- Board name — full name of the board
- Posting count — total number of postings, regardless of incentive status
- Last activity — relative time since the most recent posting (e.g. “3h ago”)
- Incentive badge — an amber pill (e.g. “3★”) showing how many postings currently have an incentive attached. No badge means zero incentives on that board.
3.2 Sorting the Board List
A sort dropdown at the top of the sidebar controls board order instantly, without navigating away.
| Sort option | Behaviour |
|---|---|
| Recent activity (default) | Boards with the most recently posted content appear first. |
| Name A–Z | Boards sorted alphabetically by name. |
| Most incentives | Boards with the highest number of incentive-linked postings appear first. Useful for identifying your most actively incentivized boards. |
The Incentives Tab
The Incentives tab is the default view when you select a board and your primary workspace. It contains three sections: the statistics row, the active incentives list, and the postings-without-incentive list.
4.1 Statistics Row
Four metric tiles sit at the top of the workspace. The “Need incentive” tile in amber is your action queue — it tells you how many postings are still waiting for an incentive.
4.2 Active Incentives List
All postings that currently have an incentive are shown as incentive cards. Each card displays:
- A gold star icon on the left, set against an amber background tile
- The incentive title in bold
- The title of the posting the incentive is linked to (prefixed with a link icon)
- The incentive date range, if one was specified (e.g. “Apr 1 – Jun 30”)
- The reply count on the linked posting
- A posting reference number (e.g. POST-42)
- Two action buttons: Edit (teal) and Unlink (outlined, red hover)
4.3 Postings Without an Incentive
Below the active incentives, a section lists every posting on the board that does not yet have an incentive attached. Each row shows the posting title, relative creation date, a “No incentive” status chip, and a teal “Add” button that opens the creation form pre-scoped to that posting.
Adding an Incentive
5.1 Opening the Add Incentive Form
Open the incentive creation form in two ways:
- Click the teal “Add incentive” button in the board header (top right of the main panel)
- Click the “Add” button on any row in the “Postings without an incentive” list
The form appears inline in the workspace — you do not navigate to a separate page. The page scrolls smoothly to the form when it opens.
5.2 Completing the Form
| Field | Required | Description |
|---|---|---|
| Posting to incentivize | Yes | Dropdown listing all unincentivized postings on the current board. Only postings without an existing incentive appear here. |
| Incentive title | Yes | Short label up to 120 characters. This is what members see on the posting card and detail page. Be specific: “2% referral fee on successful close” is more compelling than “fee”. |
| Incentive details | No | Rich text editor for full terms, conditions, eligibility, and payment timing. Supports bold, italic, underline, lists, and hyperlinks. |
| Valid from | No | Date from which the incentive is active (YYYY-MM-DD or date picker). Leave blank for no start constraint. |
| Valid to | No | Expiry date. Must be on or after Valid From if both are provided. Leave blank for no expiry. |
5.3 Saving the Incentive
To discard without saving, click “Cancel”. The form closes and no changes are made.
5.4 What Members See After You Add an Incentive
- An amber left border on the posting card in their board feed
- A gold star chip on the card showing the incentive title (truncated to 40 characters)
- The full incentive card on the posting detail page, showing title, rich-text details, and date range
- The incentive title in the Deal Snapshot sidebar panel
Editing an Incentive
6.1 Opening the Edit Form
Locate the incentive card in the “Active incentives” list on the Incentives tab and click the teal “Edit” button. The card is replaced in place with a pre-populated edit form. The linked posting shown in the form header cannot be changed during editing — to move an incentive to a different posting, unlink it first and create a new one.
6.2 Making Changes
- Update the incentive title to correct wording or change the offer description
- Update the incentive details in the rich text editor to add, remove, or clarify terms
- Change the Valid From or Valid To dates to extend, shorten, or shift the active period
- Clear the date fields to remove a date constraint entirely
6.3 Saving Changes
To discard changes, click “Cancel”. The edit form closes and the incentive card is restored to its previous state.
Unlinking an Incentive
7.1 When to Unlink
Unlinking removes the incentive from a posting entirely. The incentive data (title, details, dates) is deleted and cannot be recovered. Common reasons to unlink include:
- The incentive period has ended and the offer is no longer valid
- The incentive was attached to the wrong posting
- The terms have changed so significantly that starting fresh is cleaner than editing
7.2 How to Unlink
The posting itself is not affected — only the incentive fields are cleared. The posting title, body, author, and replies remain unchanged.
The Postings Tab
The Postings tab provides a read-only overview of all postings on the selected board. Its primary purpose is to help you find and assess postings when deciding where to place incentives.
8.1 What Each Row Shows
- Posting title — full title, truncated with an ellipsis if very long
- Date and reply count — relative posting date and number of replies (e.g. “3d ago · 4 replies”)
- Status chip — amber chip with incentive title if linked, or grey “No incentive” chip
- Add button — appears on rows without an incentive, opens the creation form pre-scoped to that posting
8.2 Reading Incentive Status
| Chip appearance | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Amber chip with text | This posting has an incentive. The chip shows the first 30 characters of the incentive title. |
| Grey “No incentive” chip + Add button | This posting has no incentive. Click Add to open the creation form for this posting. |
8.3 Searching Postings
A search box sits at the top of the Postings tab workspace. Type a keyword and press Enter to filter the posting list by title or body text. Delete the text and press Enter to clear the search.
8.4 Limitations
The Top Bar
| Element | Description |
|---|---|
| MORSL logo | Clicking the logo navigates to your Community Admin dashboard (/public/community_admin_home.php). |
| Role chip | Teal “Community admin” badge confirms your active role context. |
| Theme buttons | Sun, moon, and circle-half icons switch between Light, Dark, and System display modes. Preference is saved automatically. |
| Your name / avatar | Opens the account dropdown with links to your admin dashboard, profile settings, appearance, all boards, and sign-out. |
9.1 Account Dropdown Navigation
The dropdown provides role-aware navigation. If your account holds both Community Administrator and Member roles on different boards, both links appear:
- “Admin dashboard” — your Community Admin home
- “My boards” — the Member home, if you also hold Member roles
- “Profile & settings” — your account page for personal details
- “Appearance” — font and theme preferences
- “All boards” — the general boards listing page
- “Sign out” — ends your session
Account and Settings
10.1 Updating Your Profile
Click your name in the top-right corner, then select “Profile & settings”. From there you can update your first and last name, email address, phone number (used for SMS notifications if enabled), and display font and theme preferences.
10.2 Changing Your Display Theme
| Icon | Theme applied |
|---|---|
| Sun icon | Light mode — white background, dark text. |
| Moon icon | Dark mode — dark background, light text. |
| Circle-half icon | System mode — follows your operating system’s dark/light preference automatically. |
Your preference is saved to your account and applied across all devices and sessions.
Notification History
The Notification History page provides a complete, read-only log of every system email and SMS message that MORSL has dispatched to your account. This includes platform alerts, incentive confirmations, and any other automated communications addressed to you personally. It does not include messages sent to board members — member notification logs are visible only to members themselves or to System Administrators.
11.1 Reading the Log
To open the page, click your name or avatar in the top-right corner and select Notification history from the account dropdown. The page is divided into three areas:
Four stat cards run across the top:
| Card | What it shows |
|---|---|
| Emails | Total system emails ever sent to your account. |
| SMS | Total SMS messages ever sent to your account. |
| Total | Combined email + SMS count. |
| Filtered | Records matching your currently active filters. Updates in real time as filters change. |
Pill-shaped buttons and a board dropdown let you narrow the log by channel, delivery status, and board context. See section 11.2 for details.
Each row represents one outbound communication. The columns are:
| Column | What it contains |
|---|---|
| When | Date and time the message was dispatched, in UTC (e.g. 12 Apr 2026, 9:34am UTC). |
| Channel | Colour-coded badge — navy Email or teal SMS. |
| Status | Delivery outcome from the sending provider. Green = Delivered / Sent · Red = Failed · Amber = Pending or Queued · Grey = unknown. |
| Subject / Preview | Email subject line in bold with a body preview below, or an SMS message preview. Shows a dash if no content is available. |
| Board / Posting | If the notification was triggered by activity on a specific board or posting, the board name and posting title appear here for context. |
11.2 Filtering the Log
Three independent controls sit in the filter bar and can be combined freely.
- All channels — default; shows both emails and SMS.
- Email — email messages only.
- SMS — SMS messages only.
- All statuses — default.
- Delivered — messages confirmed as delivered or sent.
- Failed — messages that encountered a delivery error.
A dropdown lists every board on which you hold the Community Administrator role. Select a board to see only notifications related to that board. The dropdown is hidden if you administer only one board.
All filters reset when you navigate away from the page. To clear an individual filter, click its All … pill or select All boards in the dropdown.
11.3 Pagination
The log displays 25 messages per page. If your history spans multiple pages, Prev / Next buttons and individual page number links appear at the bottom of the table. Your active filters are preserved as you page through results.
11.4 Escalating Member Notification Issues
If a board member contacts you about a notification they did not receive, follow these steps before escalating:
Quick Reference
Board Activity Feed
13.1 Overview & access rules
The Board Activity Feed provides a conversation-style summary of postings, incentives, and replies for boards you have access to. It is available at /public/board_summary.php and is intended as a read-only review tool.
As a Community Administrator, your access to the feed follows the same rules enforced across the rest of the platform:
| Role on board | Access condition | What you see |
|---|---|---|
| Member | Always | All postings, incentives, and replies on boards where you hold the Member role. |
| Community Admin | Board available_end_date is in the past |
Full posting, incentive, and reply activity for expired boards you administer. Active boards you administer are not accessible in this view. |
Feed layout
| Element | Alignment | What it shows |
|---|---|---|
| Posting | Left | Author name, timestamp, title, and full body text. |
| Incentive | Centre | Incentive title, details, and validity dates — the same incentive you created via the Incentives tab. |
| Reply | Right | Member name, timestamp, and reply text. SMS badge shown for SMS-channel replies. |
13.2 Interactive demo
The demo below simulates the Board Activity Feed as it appears to a Community Administrator. Only boards where available_end_date is in the past are available to the Community Admin role in this view. Member boards you also belong to appear alongside them.
The live application loads your real board data and enforces all access rules server-side.
